Necromancer

Necromancer — Scars of Honor

Necromancer is presented as one of Scars of Honor’s signature classes, built around spirit magic and the fantasy of raising skeletons and commanding the dead. The source also frames it as a versatile class with strong commitment paths, rather than a single fixed playstyle. What has been shown so far points to minions as an important direction, but not the only one. The developers have repeatedly placed Necromancer later in the rollout, with discussion pointing to early access or even version 1.0 rather than the earliest test phases. That makes this a class with a clear identity in the plans, but very little concrete gameplay revealed so far.

What Necromancer is meant to be

The source consistently treats Necromancer as a major class fantasy rather than a side concept. It is associated with raising skeletons, commanding the dead, and using spirit magic as its main magical identity. One article also says the class is intended to be versatile, with strong commitment paths, which suggests the design is meant to support more than one focused build.

The clearest build direction mentioned is a minion path. A talent article says Necromancer includes at least one talent path centered on minions, but it does not present minions as the only way to play the class. Another class-roster discussion splits the concept into multiple directions: a tougher self-focused necromantic fighter with damage and some tanking potential, a more traditional summon-heavy lich, and a blood mage hybrid that uses health as a resource and can empower allies or summons. The source does not confirm these as final sub-classes, but it does show that the team was thinking about Necromancer as a class with multiple possible identities.

What has actually been shown

Very little Necromancer gameplay has been shown directly. One visual-direction article mentions a necromancer-themed character model, but explicitly says it is a necromancer NPC, not a reveal of a playable Necromancer class. That same reference frames the model as an enemy visual theme, so it should not be read as class confirmation.

The technical and systems articles give a small amount of supporting context. The minion system is described as especially relevant to the planned Necromancer class, and bosses as well as players can spawn controllable NPC-like units. A separate production note says skeleton enemies can be turned into different roles, including more elaborate necromancer variants, which helps the game produce more enemy content efficiently. None of this is a full class reveal, but it does show the team building around the kind of systems Necromancer would likely need.

The rollout plan is also clear in one respect: Necromancer is not being treated as an early showcase class. Across the source, it is repeatedly grouped with later-stage classes such as Priest, Pirate, and Assassin, with some discussions placing it in early access or full release rather than the first test phase.

What is still unknown

The source does not settle whether Necromancer will launch with a minion-focused kit, a blood-magic hybrid, or some other final structure. It also does not confirm any specific abilities, talent names, armor set, or exact role split for the playable class. Most importantly, the source does not show a playable Necromancer in action yet.
